Alejandro Garnacho Manchester United injury revealed after Liverpool win

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho missed training this week due to a hamstring injury before his impressive performance against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Garnacho played the full 120 minutes as United secured their place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a 4-3 extra-time victory over Jurgen Klopp's team. The teenager played a pivotal part in the winner as he laid the ball into the path of Amad to fire home in stoppage time to send the stadium into ecstasy.

His assist was even more impressive after it was revealed by his brother, Roberto, that the Argentinian was suffering with a hamstring issue in the week prior to the clash with the Merseyside club. Taking to Instagram at full-time, Garnacho's sibling tweeted his pride in his sibling for his efforts.

He wrote: "Garnacho has trained two days this week due to a hamstring injury. Still, he is there running 120 minutes and giving the winning assist. "I'm proud of you BIG BRO." The fact that Garnacho managed to last in the game for as long as he did seems to suggest that the injury to his hamstring was not too serious.

United gained another injury boost in extra-time when Mason Mount came off the bench to feature for the first time since mid-November. But, it was bad news for Casemiro who suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury which has kept him on the sidelines for a significant stint, prior to the clash with Liverpool.

The Reds' walking wounded now have a couple of weeks to recuperate as we enter the final international break of the regular season.
